Instrumentation Technician

Job Description

One of SA’s leading Companies in the Food/Packaging industry is looking for a qualified Instrumentation Technician in their East Rand plant. The successful candidate should be able to undertake the following duties.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Installation and commissioning of instrumentation equipment and/or systems.

To ensure that installations and equipment comply with the relevant standards (SABS, SANS, OHSACT) and are in excellent working condition.

Provide direction and leadership to team members.

Provide departmental requirements, capital budget and overhead projects.

Meet the client requirement by engaging in constant liaison and providing inputs when required.

Monitor team and cost performance, providing problem analysis.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12 Technical

N6/S4 Electronic Engineering

National diploma in Electronic Engineering

10 years’ experience in instrumentation installations and modifications, maintenance and calibration

10 years’ experience in PLC programming and Siemens S5, S7

5 years’ experience in fault finding and HMI

Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well at all level

Good fault finding and trouble shooting skills

Be available for overtime, shift and standby
