Job Description

Our client who is within the Engineering industry is looking for a Project Procurement Manager to join their team

Qualifications and Experience:

-At least 7 years experience in the position of a Procurement Manager

-Al least 5 years experience on complex implementation capital projects

-Any of the following qualifications: A legal degree with a focus on commercial contracts, degree in Quantity Surveying or a diploma in Purchasing Management

Skills and Competencies:

-Site procurement experience

-Major capital projects experience preferably in the mining or engineering industry

-Project Management skills

-Contract Administration skills

-HR Management skills

-Relevant HR Policies and Procedures

-Computer literacy skills

-Communication skills

Position Summary:

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the project procurement function, as well as the input and control of the contract administration function including, but not limited to the following:

-Defining procurement strategy i.e. packaging plan, tender strategy, etc

-Compiling and controlling the POP

-Working to the clients’ required procedures

-Prequalification and selection of tenders

-Compilation of tender lists for approval by the project team and client

-Preparing and issuing of tender documents

-Managing the tendering process

-Receiving and opening of tenders

-Evaluating of tenders

-Preparing and presenting technical and commercial tender recommendations

-Awarding contracts and purchase orders

-Contract administration of contracts and purchase orders including the close-out thereof

-On site post-award administration and management of contracts

-Reporting on progress – commitments, expenditure, cash flow forecasts and maintain registers as appropriate
